| Q: Can Secure Data Technology guarantee
my data will be recovered? |
A: Unfortunately, No. If the drive
has a head crash the likely hood of recovering data is slim. Damage
to a device can vary greatly from incident to incident. Extensive
damage whether physical or logical can prevent recovering data.
|
| Q: Can I just swap the board from
another drive or move platters to another drive? |
A: Not recommended! Unless you are
a valid data recovery company opening the sealed HDA will void your
warranty. Using the wrong tools or not having the proper tools will
cause additional damage. Using the wrong board could start a fire,
not to mention cause additional damage preventing recovery.
|
| Q: Would purchasing software we can
find on the internet for data recovery work? |
A: None will fix or recover data from
devices with physical or electrical damage. There is a lot of software
available. Some is absolutely worthless. Others work well in certain
areas. Good software used improperly can make things worse. You will
find that no two pieces of software generate the same results. But,
it is possible you could get lucky with your first purchase.
|
| Q: My computer makes a really weird
noise when it starts up. (It never does start!). What should I do? |
A: If you are not comfortable opening
the computer have it serviced immediately. If you feel comfortable
opening the computer, attempt to locate the source of the noise. If
the noise is emanating from the hard drive, power down and remove
the drive. Replace the drive. If you need the data, give us a call.
|
| Q: I've already opened the drive,
replaced the heads with those from a similar model and it still doesn't
work. Is there any hope? |
A: If you are very
qualified with the right tools, material and equipment. And, you made
no mistakes during the process, there is a chance. It'll cost more
than it would if you hadn't.
If you're not ...Very little! Sorry! But,
don't hesitate to give us a call if you need a professional's opinion.
